I am a retired business executive, living in Hazyview, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

“I often think about dogs when I think about work and retirement.
There are many breeds of dog that just need to be working, and useful, or have a job of some kind, in order to be happy. Otherwise they are neurotically barking, scratching, or tearing up the sofa.
A working dog needs to work. And I am a working dog.”

I have accumulated over 40 years experience in commerce and information and communications technology

I began my career in accounting and, after serving articles, I took up employment in the retail sector in a management position. From there I moved on to senior positions in various capacities.

I have in excess of 30 years experience at executive level, having been a business owner as well as serving on the Boards of Directors of various companies.

I have always enjoyed the challenge of discerning business process and methodologies gaps; designing and implementing ICT based systems or building remedial solutions, with particular focus on business and technology alignment.

All of these activities, by their very nature, have contributed to me maturing into an accomplished writer, having honed my skills by compiling executive focused business reports, researching business requirements and producing requisite bid proposals, assisting various clients with the compilation and editing of dissertations and theses; as well as authoring responses to strategic business and technology tenders.

A by-product of these activities is the capability to articulate the features and benefits of a wide variety of products and services; both in text and graphic formats.

I have also, after a few years of research and familiarisation, recently turned my hand to developing and promoting my own blogs and websites.
